Abstract: Value of viscosity of liquid at an arbitrary velocity is important in many manufacturing processes, method of rotation is used commonly to measure it at a scheduled velocity, but it is not convenient to measure it at an arbitrary velocity.
A method based on cylinder rotation is presented in the paper and it is used to measure it at an arbitrary velocity. Derivation of mathematical models is executed and a simulation is carried in Matlab. Results show that the velocity of the cylinder in the liquid attenuates by exponential law and it is in accordance with mathematical models. Error analysis indicates that that the generation of them mainly results from unsuited velocity of cylinder, slippage between the cylinder and the liquid and misalignment between the cylinder and the cup.
Abstract: The movements of liquids in the jet area, the transient area and the atomization area were analyzed in a high voltage electrostatic field and the parenchyma of charged liquid drops atomization in these areas were discussed. Experimental equipment, by which the high voltage electrostatic field can be built, has been designed, and the atomization processes of kerosene, emulsifier and alcohol in a high voltage electrostatic field have been studied.
Measurement of the Rheological Properties of Cement Paste: A New Approach
The results show that a threshold voltage is needed in order to break up the liquid drops. The lower surface tension and the lower viscous force of liquid, and the higher electrical conductivity ratio, correspond with better electrostatic atomization effects. For kerosene, emulsifier and alcohol, the best atomization effects have been achieved at 40kV, 10kV and 25kV respectively. The comparison of the simulated results with some experimental measurements is performed and discussed, indicating that the simulation method and EAM parameters in simulation are acceptable.
The dependence of viscosity and diffusion coefficient of liquid Al-Ce alloys on temperature is established to be helpful in further investigation of amorphrization ability of Al-Ce alloys. Authors: L. He, Z. Abstract: Dynamic atomization processes of non-Newtonian liquid were investigated by the method of numerical simulation. The full transient process of the primary instability, deformation, and fragmentation of free surface were simulated numerically by solving the Navier-Stokes equations using an algorithm based on the finite volume method.
The continuum surface force CSF method was used to model surface tension. In this paper, atomization characteristics of non-Newtonian liquid were analyzed detailedly. The distribution of dimensionless potential length against time was obtained, and the dimensionless wavelength of primary waves was investigated. Authors: S. Tuntarawongsa, T. Abstract: Eutectic system is a mixture or solution which the ingredients solidify or liquefy simultaneously.
Measurement of the Rheological Properties of High Performance Concrete: State of the Art Report
A eutectic mixture is therefore that unique composition of two or more components that has the lower crystallization temperature or melting point. This aim of this study was to prepare and characterize the eutectic systems containing menthol, borneol, camphor and N -Ethylmethyl 1-methylethyl cyclohexanecarboxamide WS Menthol is able to form liquid eutectic at room temperature with camphor in the ratio of , , and whereas menthol and borneol in the ratio of and , menthol and WS-3 in the ratio of and From contact angle measurement, all liquid eutectic systems were categorized as high wettability to the glass plate.
The suitable liquid eutectic system for further application as liquid carrier for injectable active compounds was menthol:camphor because of its lowest viscosity. IR spectra indicated that there was no chemical interaction of these two materials in the selected liquid eutectic mixture. Added To Cart. Based on feedback from potential members, a total of 15 to 20 members are anticipated, mainly originating from Europe and North-America.
Most potential members are related to academia including students , while some individuals from industry have shown interest to participate in this committee. New members are welcome, and as most of the meetings will be organized in parallel to major conferences related to the topic, exposure to new members will be enhanced.
No experimental work will be performed, neither will new equipment be created.
The information available in literature will be compiled into the report and recommendations. The creation of the state-of-the-art report will be ongoing for the entire duration of the committee. The amount of information available in literature is extensive. Information will be gathered on the different rheological properties, whether in steady-state yield stress, viscosity, non-linearity or transient in time thixotropy and workability loss. For each set of properties, information on tools rheometers will be collected and described.
Different measurement procedures and measuring artefacts will be discussed and it will be mentioned how they can influence the obtained properties. While assembling information for the state-of-the-art report, best practices or recommended procedures for measuring the rheological properties of cement-based materials will be discussed.

Upon consensus in the committee, these recommendations can be bundled in a separate document. The purpose of this document is to train users of rheology in how to assess rheological properties of cement-based materials and make them aware of potential measurement artefacts resulting in wrong conclusions or making the data set invalid.
Based on the recommended procedures or best practices, the information will be spread out to new and existing users of rheology in the field of cement-based materials. These new users could be new graduate students in an academic environment or could be concrete specialists in a more practical setting.
